The Tahoma Youth Cycling development Club is 100% run by volunteers, and everyone one of those volunteers is critical!
Our main volunteer positions are:
Head Coach/Ride Leader. A Head Coach will coordinate ride times and locations with the Board and is responsible for the overall safety of the group they are leading. Head Coaches will have beginner to intermediate experience in coaching basic mountain bike skills and offer opportunities for our coaches to attend training sessions with Fluid Ride to improve their coaching skills. Head Coaches are typically committed to a set monthly schedule based on their availability. Our goal is for Head Coaches to ride with the same students each week to help improve comradery and opportunities for mentorship. Due to the extra responsibility and time commitment of our Head Coaches we do our best to compensate any expenses for registration or training they may incur. Head Coaches must have a current Background Check, Safe Sport Certificate, CPR/First Aid card, and be familiar with identifying a concussions and appropriate emergency actions. We prefer that head coaches have had some formal skills training or are comfortable communicating basic bike skill techniques.
Ride Assistant. Ride assistants are the extra eyes and ears on the trails helping the Head Coaches keep track of the group. They may ride with different groups depending on their availability and the need of the Club. Basic bike handling skills and endurance level is recommended and we have a need for ALL skill levels. We ask that Ride Assistants be ready to jump in on the schedule where needed but can volunteer based on their own availability. Ride Assistant's must have a current Background Check and have completed Safe Sport Training.
Volunteer. Our volunteers are ready to jump in and help with any needs we may have not related to group rides. They help with race day and club trip logistics and club parties and dinners. This role is just as critical as any other. Volunteers must have a current Background Check and have complete Safe Sport Training.
Our schedule can vary based on the time of year but we typically ride Saturday mornings and sometimes an evening during the week.
If you'd like to be a Ride Leader, Ride Assistant, or Parent Volunteer please contact us at email@example.com for the registration code. All volunteers must have completed Safe Sport Training and a background check. More info is in the registration or you can contact us with any questions.
